GAA- Sam Maguire

Sam Maguire comes to school.

Every monday a GAA coach has been coming to the school to teach the children of Junior and Senior Infants gaelic football. The boys and girls in Junior Infants have been practising throwing, catching and the most important rule of GAA- FOUR STEPS AND PASS!

On December 7th we had a special visitor come to our school. Ciaran Kilkenny-one of the members of the All-Ireland winning Dublin team brought the Sam Maguire cup into school.

The children made some flags and asked some very interesting questions. it was a great day and the children really enjoyed seeing the enormous cup.

Science Week 2015

Science Week 2015

Monday 9th of November was the start of national Science Week. Many places across the country held exciting exhibitions to mark this occasion. Together the Junior and Senior infants went on a trip to Imaginosity, children's science museum in Sandyford.

When we arrived there the children got to participate in some experiments about force, gravity and space. They got to make rocket ships with the help of some astronauts.
After the experiments the children explored the museum dressing up as firefighters and weather reporters. They played at the train station, the doctors surgery and drove a train around the museum.

To finish up the week we held a 'Science Party'. We made some silly science hats and the children conducted some fantastic experiments.
